Biography

The Nadas, a folk rock quintet from Ames, Iowa, formed in 1995. The band gained local traction on the college scene and became the house band for People's Bar and Grill in Ames. Their debut album, Not a Sound, was released in 1996, followed by New Start in 1998. The Nadas embarked on regular tours across the country. In 2000, "Carve Your Name" from Coming Home became the theme song for the local arts-and-crafts show Courage to Create. They performed at SXSW in 2006. The band released several albums, including Transceiver (2003), The Ghosts Inside These Halls (2008), and Almanac (2010). In April 2008, "Good Night Girl" was featured on Paste magazine's 41st Sample CD. The Nadas were inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
