Italian singer/songwriter and dancer In-Grid was born Ingrid Alberini (she was named after iconic actress Ingrid Bergman) in Italy on September 11, 1973. After triumphing at the Voice of San Remo competition in 1994, she began her professional career in earnest, releasing her first single, âSomedayâ in 2000. Her big break came when producers Marco Soncini and Larry Pignagnoli had her record the vocal track for âTu es foutuâ, a 2001 single that would become an international dance smash. It went to number 1 in Greece and Sweden, and landed in the top 10 in the United States, Denmark, Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands. The song was included on In-Gridâs 2003 debut album Rendez-Vous, which charted in several countries, reaching its best position in Poland where it went to number 3. That album also contained the hit singles âIn-Tangoâ and âIâm folle de toiâ. The 2004 follow-up, La Vie En Rose, hit number 2 in Poland with the help of the top ten Polish single âMilordâ. Her third album, 2005âs Voilà ! Underperformed, causing a four year hiatus until 2009s Passion. She released a smattering of singles in collaboration with Rouge in the 2010âsâ2014âs âJâadoreâ and 2015âs âKiki Swingâ.
