Howard Stelzer is an American musician and producer known for his work in electronic music. He began making music using cassette tapes and metal percussion as a teenager, eventually focusing solely on manipulated cassette tapes starting in 1996. His first widely-available album, Stone Blind, was self-released on his independent label Intransitive Recordings in 1997. Stelzer's early performances were often improvised, with notable collaborations including Jason Talbot from 1999 to 2003. His breakthrough came with the release of Bond Inlets in 2008, which received critical acclaim. Subsequent albums included Brayton Point (2014), recorded at the Brayton Point Power Station and recognized by the Boston Globe for its unique concept.
