Biography

American R&B singer Houston Edward Summers IV, known professionally as Houston, was born October 26, 1983 in Los Angeles, California. He began his musical journey by rapping with friends on the streets of Los Angeles. At age 15, he frequently attended clubs where he listened to artists like Missy Elliott, R. Kelly, and Lil' Jon. After minimal success with his debut album 6 X Lover, Houston's breakthrough came with the release of sophomore record It's Already Written in May 2004, which quickly gained him fame. The album featured the hit single "I Like That", a collaboration with Chingy, I-20, and Nate Dogg, which topped the charts and was widely featured on television and in films. He followed this with "Ain't Nothing Wrong" later the same year. After facing significant personal challenges over the coming years, he returned in 2021 with third record We Have a Problem and the non-album single "Amends".
