Michael Griffith Buchanan, known professionally as House Shoes, is an American hip-hop producer and DJ from Detroit. House Shoes began his career as a resident DJ at St. Andrews Hall from 1994 to 2004 and worked at record stores including Melodies & Memories and Street Corner Music, later managing for Fat Beats. He won the Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Hip-Hop DJ three consecutive times from 2005 to 2007. House Shoes later released his debut studio album, Let It Go, in 2012. He has collaborated with artists such as Flying Lotus, Quelle Chris, Phat Kat, J Dilla, and Danny Brown. In 2013, he founded Street Corner Music. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe with acts including Guilty Simpson, Illa J, Exile, Aloe Blacc, and Mayer Hawthorne & The County.
