Hot Rod Circuit is an American emo and indie rock band formed in 1997 in Auburn, Alabama. Initially known as Antidote, the quartet featured vocalist Andy Jackson, guitarist Casey Prestwood, bassist Jason Russell, and drummer Wes Cross. They released their debut studio album, Mr. Glenboski, in 1998 on New World Records and were named the Best Unsigned Band of 1998 by Musician Magazine. After moving to Connecticut and adopting the name Hot Rod Circuit, they signed with Triple Crown Records to release If I Knew Now What I Knew Then in 1999 and If It's Cool with You, It's Cool with Me in 2000. The ensemble signed with Vagrant Records in 2001 and achieved their highest sales with the 2002 album Sorry About Tomorrow, which featured the single âThe Pharmacistâ. Following the release of The Underground Is a Dying Breed on Immortal Records, the group disbanded in October 2007. The band resumed activity in 2011 and has remained active since 2014.
