Say Anything is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California established in 2000. The group was founded by Max Bemis and his friends, including drummer Coby Linder. After self-releasing several independent recordings, the ensemble signed with Doghouse Records in 2003. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording ...Is a Real Boy (2004), which received critical acclaim. In 2005, the band signed with J Records and released a reissue of their debut featuring the bonus disc ...Was a Real Boy (2006). They released the studio recording In Defense of the Genre (2007), which featured numerous guest vocalists, followed by the eponymous studio recording Say Anything (2009). Their discography included Anarchy, My Dear (2012), Hebrews (2014), and I Don't Think It Is (2016). Bemis announced the ensemble's disbandment in 2018 prior to the release of Oliver Appropriate (2019). Say Anything reunited in 2022 and released the studio recording ...Is Committed (2024) followed by the studio recording The Noise of Say Anything's Room Without... (2025).
