Hop Along, an American indie rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was formed in 2004 by Frances Quinlan as a folk solo project. Initially known as Hop Along, Queen Ansleis, the project's initial breakthrough came with the release of its debut album Freshman Year in 2006. In 2009, Mark Quinlan and Tyler Long joined on drums and bass, respectively, leading to a name change to Hop Along. Their first release as a trio was the EP Wretches (2009), followed by their second full-length album, Get Disowned, in 2012. The band signed with Saddle Creek Records in 2014 and released their third full-length record, Painted Shut, in 2015. Hop Along embarked on a US tour of the Midwest and East Coast in fall 2021, their first since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
