Hed PE is an American rock band formed in 1994 in Huntington Beach, California, by the vocalist Jared Gomes and guitarist Wes Geer. Originally performing under the name Hed, they released their debut EP, Church of Realities, before legal issues forced them to change their name to Hed PE. The group signed with Jive Records and released its self-titled debut studio album, Hed PE, in 1997, blending gangsta rap and punk rock. Their second studio album, Broke, was released on August 22, 2000 and peaked at number 63 on the Billboard 200 chart. Notable singles from this period include âBartenderâ and âKilling Timeâ. In 2001, they performed on the Ozzfest tour alongside bands such as Korn and System of a Down. Their third studio album, Blackout, was released on March 18, 2003 and peaked at number 33 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band left Jive Records and released Only in Amerika in 2004 on Koch Records. Subsequent albums include Back 2 Base X (2006), New World Orphans (2009), and Detox (2023). The group signed with Pavement Music in 2014. The band's releases include sixteen studio albums, with sales of over 700,000 copies worldwide.
