Zug Izland is an American rock ensemble from Detroit established in 2001. The group consists of the musicians Syn, Mike P, D-Lay, and 2 Phat. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by hard rock and alternative rock. The ensemble was founded by the musician Mike Puwal and the musician Joseph Bruce, who performed under the stage name Violent J, to create a "Juggalo Rock" sound. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Cracked Tiles (2003) released on the label Psychopathic Records. The recording achieved professional recognition for reaching number 48 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 31 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Zug Izland achieved professional recognition for the studio recording 3:33 (2004) which reached number 26 on the Top Heatseekers chart and number 22 on the Top Independent Albums chart. The ensemble became inactive in 2004 and resumed activity in 2012. Their discography included the compilation recording Toxicology: Zug Izland's Dopest Bangers (2013). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording The Promised Land / Nebula (2016) and the studio recording The Promised Land / Event Horizon (2018). The musician Guido Milligan died on April 7, 2021.
