Biography

Nothingface was an American nu metal band formed in 1993 in Washington. The original lineup included David Gabbard on vocals, Tom Maxwell on guitar, Bill Gaal on bass, and Chris Houck on drums. They began their journey by responding to a local magazine ad and eventually released their self-titled debut album Nothingface in 1996 through DCide Records. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Bleeder" from the Violence album (2000), which peaked at number 32 on the Mainstream Rock Charts. The band toured extensively, supporting acts like Soulfly, Pantera, and Ministry, and participated in major festivals such as Tattoo the Earth and Ozzfest 2003. Despite their success, internal conflicts and label issues led to their disbandment in February 2004. Matt Holt, the lead vocalist, passed away on April 15, 2017, due to a degenerative disease.
