Biography
Heavy Trash, an American indie rock band from New York, was formed in 2005 by Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray. The duo's eclectic musical style draws influences from blues, rockabilly, and punk rock. Their debut self-titled album was released the same year of their formation. In 2007, they followed up with Going Way Out with Heavy Trash. In 2008, Heavy Trash embarked on a tour with Canadian country-rock group The Sadies, performing under the name Heavy Trash and the Sadies, which featured both bands on stage together. Their album Midnight Soul Serenade was released in 2009.
