Richard WeltonMorales Jr., born July 18, 1979 in Texas, is an American rapper known as Gunplay. He dropped out of high school at 15 and began using and selling cocaine. In 1997, he met Rick Ross and formed the hip-hop group Triple C's (Carol City Cartel), releasing their debut album Custom Cars & Cycles in 2009. Gunplay made his solo debut on Rick Ross' track "Gunplay" from Deeper Than Rap. He signed with Def Jam in July 2012 and released his first mixtape, 601 & Snort, which was critically acclaimed. His debut studio album, Living Legend, was released in 2015 and featured guest appearances by Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, YG, and Currensy. In 2019, Gunplay released the collaborative album, Chop Stixx and Banana Clips with Mozzy.
