Grupo Mojado is a Mexican regional music group formed in 1986 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico; early in their career they signed with Fonovisa and began issuing recordings that blended grupera-style ballads, cumbia, ranchera and traditional norteño sounds. In 1995 they released Pensando En Ti, followed in 1996 by Sueño y Realidad, the latter of which included the singles âCaldo de Polloâ and âPiensa en MÃ,â both of which entered Billboardâs Hot Latin Songs charts; âPiensa en MÃâ earned the group a Premio Lo Nuestro award in the Regional Mexican category. Throughout the late 1990s the band continued releasing studio albums (including Estas Aquà and Lo Romántico de Grupo Mojado), compilation and themed records, and maintained a touring presence across Mexico, the United States and parts of Central and South America. In the 2000s and 2010s they issued further albums and tours, exploring romantic and tropical styles while keeping ties to their regional roots; their subsequent releases include the 2025 single âSorbito de Champagneâ and the 2025 album Gloria a Dios, showing an ongoing recording output decades after their debut. The groupâs lineup has featured long-time vocalist José Luis Dávila alongside instrumentalists on keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and percussion.
