Biography

Founded in 1977 in Fresnillo, in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, Los Temerarios is a grupera band, a popular Mexican genre combining cumbia, mariachi and ranchera. Originally named Conjunto La Brisa, the group's members were brothers Adolfo Angel and Gustavo Angel. In 1978, they brought their cousin Fernando Angel on board. The name change came in 1983 with the release of the band's first studio album, Los 14 Grandes Exitos de Los Temerarios . At a rate of almost one album a year, the trio built up a vast discography, including several emblematic albums with romantic overtones, such as Mi Vidas Eres Tu in 1992, Tu Ultima Cancion, certified gold disc in the United States in 1993, and Camino del Amor in 1995. In 2000, the album En la Madrugada Se Fue went platinum in the U.S., selling over a million copies. Two years later, Una Lágrima No Basta, led by the single "Comer a Besos ", takes the group to number one on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. In 2015, a compilation called Los Temerarios La Collección Completa and in 2020 Los Temerarios Esencial are released, consecrating a career marked by almost 50 million records sold. The group received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2010, and was honored again six years later when they were inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame.
