Biography

Godthrymm is an epic doom metal band from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Formed in 2017 by Hamish Glencross (former guitarist and vocalist for My Dying Bride) and drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels, the bandâwhich has undergone several lineup changesâfollows in the tradition of classic British doom metal. Following the release of their debut EP, A Grand Reclamation, in 2018, the band recorded their next EP, Dead in the Studio (2019), live in the studio. A new chapter began with the band signing to the Profound Lore label and the release of their debut album, Reflections, in February 2020. Godthrymm established its reputation both on stage and in the studio with the follow-up albums, Distortions (2023) and Projections (2026).
