Biography
Vallenfyre was a British death metal supergroup formed in 2010 in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The band was founded by Paradise Lost guitarist Gregor Mackintosh as a tribute to his father, who died in 2009. The lineup included Hamish Hamilton Glencross of My Dying Bride and Adrian Erlandsson of At the Gates. Vallenfyre released the EP Desecration in 2011, followed by the debut studio album A Fragile King in October 2011. The group gained attention through performances at festivals such as Brutal Assault and Summer Breeze Open Air in 2012. Their second album, Splinters, was released in May 2014 and reached number 43 on the Finnish charts. In 2015, they released the EP The Last of Our Kind and participated in the Decibel Magazine Tour. The band issued their final studio album, Fear Those Who Fear Him, in June 2017, which reached number 73 in Germany. Mackintosh announced the bandâs dissolution in 2018.
