Biography
Mozart Estate, formerly known as Go Kart Mozart, is an English indie pop band formed in 1998 by Lawrence. The group emerged as a reaction to the lack of commercial success of Lawrence's previous bands, Felt and Denim. Their debut album, Instant Wigwam and Igloo Mixture, was released in 1999 on West Midlands Records, a subsidiary of Cherry Red. In 2005, they followed up with Tearing Up the Album Chart. Notable releases under the Go Kart Mozart moniker include "New World In The Morning" (2012) and On the Hot Dog Streets (2012). The band's name change to Mozart Estate was announced in February 2018, and in 2023 they released their album Pop-Up! Ker-Ching! and the Possibilities of Modern Shopping.
