Biography
Formed in 2003 in Stockach, Germany, Glasperlenspiel is an electropop duo comprised of Carolin Niemczyk (born July 24, 1990, in Singen, Germany) and Daniel Grunenberg (born November 8, 1988, in Stockach). The group came to prominence in 2011 with their first single, "Echt", which reached Number 9 on the German Singles chart and Number 54 in Austria. Also released in 2011, their debut album, Beweg dich mit mir, reached Number 15. The album also included the hit singles âIch bin ichâ (Number 32) and âFreundschaftâ (Number 17). Their sophomore album Grenzenlos (2013) reached Number 8 and included the Top 10 hit âNie vergessen.â Tag X, their third album, was released in 2015 (Number 14) and included the single âGeiles Leben,â which rose to Number 2 on the singles chart. In 2018, Glasperlenspiel released their fourth album, Licht & Schatten, which reached Number 5 on the albums chart. After a four year wait, the duo returned with the 2022 single âSOS.â
