Biography

Eisblume, a pop rock band from Berlin, Germany, was formed in 2007. The band's style was heavily influenced by manga and anime, which were popular in Germany at the time. The group consisted of Sotiria Schenk, alias "Ria" (vocals), Christoph Hessler (guitar), Philipp Schardt (bass), Philipp Schadebrodt (drums), and Golo Schultz (keyboards). Eisblume's breakthrough came in the summer of 2008 when they served as opening acts for Ich + Ich, gaining significant fan attention. "Eisblumen," the band's debut single, was released in 2009 and peaked at number 3 on the German charts, with its accompanying video receiving a nomination for a prize ECHO in the category of Best National Video. It was followed by their first studio album Unter dem Eis in 2009, reaching number 12 in Germany. Eisblume also supported Lacrimosa on their Sehnsucht Tour Germany 2009. Shortly after releasing their second album Ewig in 2012, Eisblume disbanded in 2013.
