Biography
Gallon Drunk, an English alternative rock band, was formed in 1988 and initially consisted of James Johnston and Mike Delanian, who recruited Nick Combe in 1990. Their breakthrough came with the single "Snakepit" in 1988, followed by "Ruby" (1990) and "Some Fool's Mess" (1991), the latter earning NME's Single of the Week. The debut album You, the Night⦠and the Music (1992) was issued by Clawfist and Rykodisc, while From the Heart of Town (1993) earned a Mercury Prize nomination and a Sire Records deal, leading to tours at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden. After lineup changes, the band released In the Long Still Night (1996), Fire Music (2002), and The Rotten Mile (2007), as well as the live album Live at Klub 007 (2008). The album The Soul of the Hour followed in 2014. Combe passed away in 2015.
