Funk Mobb, a rap trio from Vallejo, California, consisting of Mac Shawn, G-Note, and K-1, formed in 1994. Their first appearance was on Little Bruce's debut album XXXtra Mannish. In 1996, Funk Mobb released their sole studio album, It Ain't 4 Play, which peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 28 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers. Following the release of It Ain't 4 Play, the group disbanded in 1998. Mac Shawn went on to release two solo albums, Music fo' tha' Mobb (1997) and Worldwide Bosses and Playas (2001), while G-Note joined No Limit Records under the name Lil Italy and released his debut solo album, On Top of da World, in 1999.
