Flower Travellin' Band is a Japanese rock band formed in 1970 by Yuya Uchida and the Flowers. The group initially started as a cover band after Uchida met John Lennon and was introduced to artists like Cream and Jimi Hendrix. In 1969, the band evolved into Flower Travellin' Band with Joe Yamanaka on vocals and Hideki Ishima on guitar. They released their debut album, Anywhere, in 1970, followed by critically acclaimed albums such as Satori (1971) and Made in Japan (1972). The band performed internationally but disbanded in 1973 due to individual pursuits. Flower Travellin' Band reunited in 2007 and released We Are Here (2008). Yamanaka passed away from cancer on August 7, 2011.
