Biography

The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, a psychedelic rock group from Los Angeles, California, was formed in August 1965. The original lineup included Michael Lloyd, Shaun Harris, Danny Harris, John Ware, and Bob Markley. Before forming the band, Markley had hosted television programs and released singles such as "Will We Meet Again" and "Summer's Comin' On". The group debuted with Volume One in 1966 on the FiFo label. In 1967, they signed with Reprise Records and released three albums, including their most notable work, Volume 3: A Child's Guide to Good and Evil, in 1968. The band was known for its elaborate psychedelic light shows and a diverse musical style that ranged from folk rock to avant-garde. After releasing two additional albums on independent labels, the group disbanded in 1970.
