Ultimate Spinach was an American psychedelic rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 1967 as Underground Cinema, they changed their name to Ultimate Spinach after signing with Alan Lorber. Their debut album, Ultimate Spinach, was released in 1968 and peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200. Notable singles include "Your Head Is Reeling" (1968) and (Just Like) Romeo & Juliet (1969). The band toured with acts like Big Brother and the Holding Company and The Youngbloods. Despite initial hype, the "Bosstown Sound" faded, leading to eventual disbandment in 1969. Their final album, Ultimate Spinach III, was released that year but did not chart.
