Biography

Trond Granlund, born on July 29, 1950, in Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian singer known for his contributions to folk and rock. He grew up in Torshov and Manglerud before moving to Lørenskog in 1968. Granlund began his music career in 1973 with the release of independent album Rock. His first solo album, Trond Granlund, was released in 1976. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, he released several albums including Pleasant Surprise (1981), which won him a Norwegian Grammy in the pop category, and Stay the Night (1982). In 1985, Granlund received the Gammleng Award in the pop category. His album Tida er'e ingen som kan snu marked a shift to releasing music primarily in Norwegian. Notable releases from his later career include På vei til Rock'n Roll (2001), an autobiographical book, and the book Sanger jeg lærte av faren min (2012).
