Biography

Evvie McKinney (June 27, 1997) is an American singer and songwriter known for winning the first season of the singing competition show The Four: Battle for Stardom in 2018. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she began singing at a young age and became a local sensation with her powerful voice and soulful style. She gained national recognition after appearing on The Four, where she wowed audiences and judges alike with her performances of songs by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Andra Day. Since winning the show, she has released several singles and an EP titled This Is Evvie McKinney in 2021. Her studio debut, Love, Evvie McKinney, appeared in 2022 and was followed by the holiday single "It's Christmastime," which entered the Christian Airplay Top 50 at Number 34. The singer signed by Motown Gospel also wrote the song "Bring the Whole Hood" with Meghan Trainor, and pursued with singles "Higher" (2023), "Don't You Know It's Christmas" (2023), and "Don't Walk Away" in 2024, the first track of the 2025's EP It Ain't Over.
