Biography
Blessing Offor is an American soul singer who launched his career with an appearance on the seventh season of The Voice, where he advanced as far as the show's knockout round. A native of Nigeria, he grew up with five older siblings and migrated to America at six years ago. Despite going blind at a young age â the result of congenital glaucoma and an unfortunate injury to his retina during childhood â he began playing piano at nine years old, performing a mix of pop, jazz, and Motown covers before transitioning to his original compositions. He later studied music at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and successfully auditioned for The Voice in 2014. Following his time on the show, Offer signed with Sojourn Records and released a gospel-influenced debut album, Roots, in 2015. A period of inactivity followed. Blessing Offor returned several years later with an EP, Brighter Days, which landed him on several charts in 2022. The title track reached Number 2 on Billboard's Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs chart, while a follow-up track, "Hallelujah," peaked at Number 10 on Billboard's Christian Airplay format.
