Biography

Born in Quebec City on January 10, 1978, Étienne Drapeau is a Quebec pop singer. He began his sporting career in ice hockey in 1994 and played for several professional teams until 2002, before turning to singing. After starting out in bars, he auditioned for Star Académie and finished among the ten finalists of the second season. He then set up his own label, Les Productions Drapeau, and recorded his first album, Je l'Ai Jamais Dit À Personne (2006), with which he scored his first hit with the title track. Two years later, his second album of the same name was buoyed by the hit singles "Je t'aimerai" and "Comment battent les coeurs? and a tour that included an opening slot for Lynda Lemay at the Olympia in Paris. In September 2010, Étienne Drapeau presents the opus Paroles Et Musique, with which he achieves his first career number-one with the song "T 'es ma femme, t'es la plus belle". In 2012, he took part in the musical Don Juan, playing the role of Don Carlos. This was followed by the albums Le Monde Est Beau (2012) and T'es Toute Ma Vie (2014). Following the release of the compilation Mes Plus Belles Chansons (2015), Étienne Drapeau moved to the Dominican Republic, where he recorded the album Fiesta (2018), performed in Spanish. In 2021, he returned to the French language on the album Le Pont, followed the following year by the opus Noël Amoureux.
