Biography

Annie Villeneuve is a talented French-Canadian pop singer-songwriter, and television personality. Born on May 5, 1983, in Jonquière, Quebec, Canada, she was raised in a musical family and started singing at a very young age. She rose to fame in 2003 when she participated in the first season of the popular reality TV show Star Académie in Quebec. Her powerful voice and captivating stage presence quickly wowed both the judges and the audience, and she quickly became a fan favorite on the show. After finishing in third place, Annie Villeneuve released her debut album Quand Je Ferme les Yeux (2005), which quickly became a commercial success, earning her nominations for Revelation of the Year and Best Album - Pop-Rock at the ADISQ Gala. In 2008, she was invited by Céline Dion to sing background vocals during her show for the ceremonies of the 400th anniversary of Quebec City. She went on to release several more successful albums over the next few years, including the gold-selling Annie Villeneuve (2009), which received a Félix Award nomination for Album of the Year, Noël chez moi (2010), Telle qu'elle (2012), and 5 (Cinq) (2017), which peaked at Number 22 on the Canadian Albums Chart.
