Biography

Escape With Romeo is a German rock band formed in Cologne in 1989. Founding member and lead vocalist Thomas Elbern had previously been involved with other bands such as Seltsame ZustÃ¤nde and Pink Turns Blue. Their debut album Escape with Romeo was released in 1990, featuring the single "Somebody", which became a scene hit. Keyboarder Martin Pott joined the lineup for their second album Autumn on Venus (1992). Subsequent albums include Next Stop Eternally (1993), Blast of Silence (1996), and How Far Can You Go (1998). In 2001, Escape With Romeo transitioned to their own label Zeitklang Records. Notable releases under this label include Come Here White Light (2001) and Samsara (2012). They announced their disbandment in 2017 but returned with a new compilation Based on a True Story - Best of Escape with Romeo in 2022.
