Elida Reyna, born on August 17, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas, is an American singer known for her contributions to Tejano music. Raised in Mercedes, Texas, she was influenced by Tejano legends like Laura Canales and began performing at local events in 1988. In 1992, Reyna formed the band Elida Y Avante (EYA) with Noel Hernandez. Their debut album Atrevete (1994) featured the hit single "Luna Llena" and earned them gold status. The band won "Rising Group of the Year" at the TTMA Industry Awards in 1995. Reyna's solo career highlights include the release of Simplemente Eya (2011), Lo Mejor (2012), and Eya Nation (2013). She won "Female Vocalist of the Year" at the Tejano Music Awards in 2000 for her song "Duele". In 2005, Reyna formed Las 3 Divas with Shelly Lares and Stefani Montiel. Elida Y Avante won a Latin Grammy Award for their 2010 album Fantasia.
