Eat was a British rock ensemble from Bath established in 1986. The group consisted of the musicians Ange Dolittle, Pete Howard, Max Noble, Paul Noble, and Tim Sewell. Howard achieved professional recognition for performing as a member of the ensemble The Clash between 1983 and 1986. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by urban blues and spaghetti western metal. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for signing with the label Fiction Records in 1988. Their recording career began with the extended play The Autogift EP (1989) and the extended play The Plastic Bag EP (1989). Their discography included the song âSummer in the Cityâ (1989) and the debut studio recording Sell Me a God (1989) which reached number 10 on the UK Indie Chart. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the song âPsycho Couch / Alien Detectorâ (1990) and became inactive in November 1990. They resumed activity in 1991 with the guitarist Max LaVilla. Their recording career included the studio recording Epicure (1993) and the song âBleed Me Whiteâ (1993) which reached number 73 in the United Kingdom. The group became inactive in 1994 following a tour of the United States. Eat achieved professional recognition for resuming activity between 2014 and 2017 with the guitarist Malc Treece. Their discography included the extended play She Cries Flowers E.P. (2016). The ensemble became inactive in 2017.
