Biography

666 is a German electronic music group formed in 1997, renowned for its unique style combining hard dance, techno and Latin influences. The band, made up of Thomas Detert, Mike Griesheimer (aka Mike Red), and later Sascha Lappessen, left their mark on the second half of the 1990s with hard-hitting tracks. Their debut album, Paradoxx (1998), introduced hits such as "Alarma!", which topped the dance charts in Europe, followed by "Diablo", "Amokk" and "Paradoxx", which consolidated their presence on the electronic scene. Their energetic style, characterized by alarm sounds, continued to assert itself with the album Who's Afraid of...? (1999) and hits such as "Bomba!" and "Devil", representative of the band's diabolical imagery. In 2001, the Hellraiser album, a compilation of old and new material, marked an evolution towards darker sounds, confirming their status as hard dance pioneers. Their tracks dominated the charts in Germany, the UK, Spain and other European countries, making them a fixture on the dance scene. The duo split up in 2005 after another hit, "Rhythm Takes Control". The two DJs then formed Vinylshakerz, before reuniting in 2024 for the track "Tokyo".
