Biography

Joann Judith Rosario, born on June 3, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American singer known for her work in gospel and soul music. Raised by parents of Puerto Rican background, she began singing in her father's church as a child. Joann Rosario started her professional career in 1997 as a background singer for Marvin Sapp before joining Fred Hammond’s Radical for Christ in 1999. She launched her solo career with the debut album More, More, More, released under Verity/Zomba Records. In 2003, she was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal folds and took an extended hiatus to treat the condition. Joann Rosario returned with follow-up albums Now More Than Ever (2005) and Joyous Salvation (2007), both of which charted on the U.S. Gospel charts at number 4 and number 13 respectively. She later continued ministry work as a pastor and author, releasing the devotional Father, Here I Am. After a long gap without new solo music, Joann Rosario returned in 2025 with featured appearances including “Great & Mighty” by J. Windsor, “SI CREO EN ÉL” by Karen Cáceres and “Speak Lord” by Kingdom Life Worship. In 2026, she released “Still On The Throne” through Lewis-Kortez Group, a worship ballad that reached number 30 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart.
