Disco Inferno was an English experimental rock band formed in 1989 in Essex by Ian Crause, Paul Willmott, Daniel Gish, and Rob Whatley. Initially influenced by post-punk acts like Joy Division and Wire, the band released their debut album Open Doors, Closed Windows in July 1991. After Gish left to join Bark Psychosis, Disco Inferno continued as a trio and evolved their sound with innovative sampling techniques featured on the EP Summer's Last Sound in 1992. Their second album, D.I. Go Pop, was released in February 1994, showcasing a harder, more concise sound. Despite critical acclaim, Disco Inferno disbanded in 1995 due to artistic and financial pressures. Their final album, Technicolour, was released in July 1996.
