Biography

Digitonal is a British electronica group from London formed in 1997. Led by clarinettist and composer Andy Dobson, the ensemble includes violinist Samy Bishai and producer Dom Graveson. Their sound is defined as neo classical ambient electronica and has been compared to the work of Philip Glass and The Orb. They released their debut studio album 23 Things Fall Apart (2002) through the label Toytronic. They followed this with the extended play The Centre Cannot Hold (2004) and the live recording Live At The Oxygen Bar (2005). After issuing the sampler 2002-2006: A Sampler (2006), they released their second full-length album Save Your Light For Darker Days (2008), which featured the single “93 Years On” (2008). Their recording career includes the retrospective album Be Still My Bleeping Heart (2010) and the studio recordings Beautiful Broken (2015) and Set The Weather Fair (2020). The group announced an indefinite hiatus on their website in 2023.
