Biography

Digger Dance, a rap group from Hamburg-Altona, Germany, was formed in the early 1990s. The band initially consisted of rapper Bülent Çelebi, known as B-Low, and producer DJ Tobby Digg (Tobias Iliev-Granow). They started their career under the name Direkt Aktion, releasing music in English that aligned with the Britcore genre. Their breakthrough came with the release of Digger Is A Dancer in 2000, a regional hit whose video was directed by Fatih Akın. In 1999 they released their first single "Digg It / O-Block Tempel." The group transitioned to German lyrics around 1997 and gained further recognition with the release of "Ehrensache" in 2001. Digger Dance's debut album, The Diggest, was released in 2003 under the Eimsbush label, marking their final release before the label's insolvency. The band also appeared in the film 3 Engel für Ali (2003) and toured with notable acts such as Deichkind and Style Liga.
