Biography
Decameron, a British folk rock and progressive rock band, was formed in 1968 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England with Johnny Coppin on guitar and vocals and Dave Bell on guitar and vocals. The group initially signed to Vertigo Records in 1973, releasing their debut album Say Hello To The Band. Their second album, Mammoth Special, was released in 1974 under Mooncrest Records and showcased a more introspective sound. The band's lineup evolved over the years, including notable additions like Al Fenn on lead guitar and mandolin, Geoff March on violin and cello, Dik Cadbury on lead and 12-string acoustic guitar and bass, and Bob Critchley on drums. Decameron released two more studio albums: Third Light in 1975 under Transatlantic Records and Tomorrow's Pantomime in 1976. Despite their efforts, the band disbanded shortly after due to disappointing sales.
