Biography

Devastations, an Australian indie rock band from Melbourne, was formed in 2002 by Tom Carlyon, Hugo Cran, and Conrad Standish. Their self-titled debut album, released on May 5, 2003, was named the best debut of 2004 by Rolling Stone Germany. In 2005, they signed with Beggars Banquet Records and released their second studio album, Coal, which was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. Their third album, Yes, U (2007), earned nominations for both the Australian Music Prize and Best Album at the EG Awards of 2007. The band contributed to charity projects, including a cover of "All Cats Are Grey" by The Cure in 2008 and a collaboration with Blonde Redhead on "When the Road Runs Out" in 2009. Devastations disbanded in 2010.
