Tree63, a South African Contemporary Christian music band, was formed in Durban in December 1996 by John Ellis and Darryl Swart. The group initially performed under various names before settling on Tree63 in 2000 due to a naming conflict with an American band. Their debut album Overflow was released independently in 1997, followed by 63 in 1999, which included the hits "A Million Lights", "Stumbling Stone" and "Treasure". In 2000, Tree63 signed with InPop Records and released their self-titled debut album in the United States, featuring the singles "Look What Youâve Done" and "Treasure", which topped charts and earned them the GMA Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2001. The band disbanded in 2007 but reunited for tours in 2008, 2009, and 2014. Their final album, Land, was released independently in September 2015.
