Deeds of Flesh, an American death metal band from Los Osos, California, was formed in 1993 by Jacoby Kingston, Erik Lindmark, and Joey Heaslet. The group released their first EP, Gradually Melted, on Wild Rags Records before moving to Repulse Records for their debut full-length album, Trading Pieces (1996). In 1998, they released Inbreeding the Anthropophagi. After losing their label contract, Deeds of Flesh founded Unique Leader Records and continued releasing albums such as Mark of the Legion (2001) and Crown of Souls (2005). The band toured extensively with acts like Monstrosity and Cannibal Corpse. In 2007, founding member Jacoby Kingston left the band but returned in 2020 for their album Nucleus, which was released posthumously after frontman Erik Lindmark's death from sclerosis on November 29, 2018.
