Biography

D'Sound, a Norwegian R&B, jazz and funk band based in Oslo, was formed in 1993. The original lineup included lead vocalist Simone Eriksrud (born Larsen), bassist Jonny Sjo, and drummer Kim Ofstad. Their debut album was Spice of Life (1997). Their second album, Beauty Is a Blessing (1998), won the Spellemannpris for Best Norwegian Pop Group and achieved platinum certification in Norway. In 2003, D'Sound released their fourth studio album, Doublehearted, following up with their fifth studio album My Today in 2005. The band's lineup underwent changes over the years, including Simonne Larsen's departure in 2018 and her subsequent return as a touring and recording member in 2022. Notable collaborations include working with Macy Gray on "Save Some" (2021) and Shontelle on "Necessary Love" (2021). D'Sound continues to release music, with the album 25 released in 2022.
