Biography

Darlene Joyce Zschech, born on September 8, 1965, in Australia, is a Pentecostal Christian worship leader and singer. She began her career as a child actor on an Australian children's show at age ten. In 1987, she released her first album Make the Choice. Zschech joined Hillsong Church in Sydney after writing "Shout to the Lord" in 1993, which became one of the most well-known modern worship songs. She served as the worship pastor from 1996 to 2007 and was instrumental in producing over 20 albums under the Hillsong Music label. Her solo career includes albums like Kiss of Heaven (2003), Change Your World (2005), Simply Darlene (2011), and You Are Love (2011). Zschech has also written five books, including Worship (1996) and Revealing Jesus: A 365-Day Devotional (2013). In January 2011, she became the senior pastor of Hope Unlimited Church in New South Wales. She released the live recording Revealing Jesus (2013), followed by The Table: A Christmas Worship Gathering with HopeUC (2018), and Testament (2024).
