Biography

Formed in Arkadelphia, Arkansas in 1991, Point of Grace is a contemporary Christian group founded by vocalists Shelley Breen, Denise Jones, Terry Jones, and Heather Payne. The early version of the group featured several different members and performed under the name Say So. By 1993, the classic lineup had been solidified and Point of Grace signed with Word Records and released their self-titled album in 1993. The album featured several big contemporary Christian hits, earning the group the New Artist of the Year Award at the GMA Dove Awards in 1994. Further hit albums include the number 1 albums The Whole Truth (1995), Life, Love & Other Mysteries (1996), Steady On (1998), A Christmas Story (1999), and Free to Fly (2001). Terry Jones left the quartet in 2003 and was replaced by Leigh Cappallino. They continued to release more hit albums – I Choose You (2004) and How You Live (2007) – before Heather Payne left the group and they chose to remain a trio rather than replace her. More albums followed including No Changin’ Us (2010), A Thousand Little Things (2012), Directions Home (Songs We Love, Songs You Know) (2015) and Beautiful Name: Hymns & Worship Songs (2018). In 2025, Point of Grace collaborated with singer/songwriter Jason Gray and released the holiday single “Comfort and Joy.”
