Daniel Faraldo, known professionally as Dan-e-o, was born on June 10, 1977, in Toronto, Canada. He is a Canadian hip hop artist and actor of Jamaican and Spanish descent. At age 13, Dan-e-o won a contest on the television dance show Electric Circus. His recording career began in 1996 with "Dear Hip Hop" on Beat Factory/EMI's RapEssentials Volume One compilation. He helped establish Monolith and co-founded One Rock Records in 1997, and released the EP The Long Awaited... with Monolith the following year, in 1998. Dan-e-o's debut album, The Book of Daniel, was released in 2000. He won the Best Hip Hop Artist award at the Black Canadian Awards in June 2015.
