Cubanate, an English industrial band from London, was founded in 1992 by Marc Heal, Graham Rayner, Phil Barry, and Steve Etheridge. They gained attention for blending electro-industrial music with heavy metal guitars and techno percussion. Their debut album, Antimatter, was released in 1993, followed by the single "Body-Burn". After Antimatter, Rayner and Etheridge left to form K-Nitrate, and Julian Beeston joined Cubanate. The band's second album, Cyberia (1995), featured the hit single "Oxyacetylene" and peaked at number 3 on the CMJ's RPM Chart in the U.S. In 1998, they released Interference, marking a departure from their earlier techno experiments with a strong drum and bass influence. Cubanate reformed in September 2016 to play the Cold Waves Festival. They released a compilation album, Brutalism (2017), featuring remastered songs from their first three albums, and Kolossus (2019).
