Clare Bowditch, born on September 9, 1975, in Melbourne, Australia, is a musician, author, and occasional actress. She began writing songs at age three and formed the band Red Raku in 1998, releasing two albums. In 2003, Bowditch joined forces with Libby Chow and Warren Bloomer to form Clare Bowditch & The Feeding Set and released their debut album, Autumn Bone. They signed with Capitol Records later that year. Their second album, What Was Left, was released in 2005 and peaked at number 35 on the ARIA Chart. In 2006, Bowditch won the ARIA Award for Best Female Artist. Her memoir, Your Own Kind of Girl, won âBest New Australian Authorâ at the 2020 ABIA (Australian Book Industry Awards).
