Biography

Case Woodard, better known as Case, is an American singer, songwriter and record producer who had a string of hits in the late 1990s and early 2000s, finding himself nominated for two Grammy Awards in the process. Beginning his career with groups like Future and Black, Case wrote and sang on material for Usher, Christopher Williams and Faith Evans before being snapped up by Russell Simmons and Def Jam Records. He released his self-titled debut album in 1996, which featured the single 'Touch Me, Tease Me' with backing vocals from Mary J. Blige which featured on the soundtrack to The Nutty Professor and was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Success continued with the follow-up 'Personal Conversation' achieving gold status in 1999 and bore more hit singles like 'Happily Ever After' and 'Faded Pictures'. He then achieved his first number one single 'Missing You' in 2001, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. The same year he collaborated with Ja Rule on 'Livin' It Up' which was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. After a number of further releases, Case released a greatest hits in 2014 and has continued to write and perform as well as appearing on US TV show 'Unsung' in 2017 profiling his career to date.
