Biography

Chante Moore is an R&B singer who grew up in San Francisco. She was the daughter of a minister and influenced by gospel music. Moore's soulful vocals were spotted by producer Louil Silas and she signed to his label when she was 22 featuring on El DeBarge's single 'You Know What I Like' in 1992. She released her debut album 'Precious' the same year. The album went gold, helped by the hit singles 'Love's Taken Over' and 'It's Alright'. Her next albums were 'A Love Supreme' (1994), 'This Moment Is Mine' (1999) and 'Exposed' in 2000, featuring the hit single 'Straight Up'. The next millennium saw a number of collaborations. She and R Kelly featured on The Isley Brothers' hit single 'Contagious' in 2001. Moore recorded two albums with her then husband R&B singer Kenny Lattimore, 'Things That Lovers Do' in 2003 and 'Uncovered/Covered' in 2006. Her own album, the reflective 'Love the Woman' followed in 2008. After Moore and Lattimore divorced in 2011 she changed labels and released 'Moore Is More' in 2013. She also starred in the reality TV show 'R&B Divas: Los Angeles', featuring for three seasons alongside Dawn Robinson and Kelly Price. In 2017 she released the album 'The Rise of the Phoenix' and then the seasonal 'Christmas Back to You'.
